PD Phase 1: Research

User research phase -- interviews, personas, and analysis to inform PRD creation.

Command: /pd-1-research <mode>

When to use

After /pd-0-start when beginning a new product. Run this before writing the PRD to ground your requirements in real user needs rather than assumptions.

Modes

Mode Command Purpose
Script /pd-1-research script Create an interview guide
Analyze /pd-1-research analyze FILE Extract insights from a transcript
Persona /pd-1-research persona Synthesize interviews into personas
Usability /pd-1-research usability Create a usability test plan

What happens

Script mode

Gathers your product concept, target users, key assumptions, and research goals. Then invokes the interview-script-writer agent to produce a semi-structured interview guide with warm-up, exploration, validation, and wrap-up sections.

Analyze mode

Reads an interview transcript (PDF or Markdown), invokes the interview-analyzer agent, and extracts key quotes, pain points, unmet needs, current workflows, and PRD implications.

Persona mode

Scans all interview analyses in 02-Knowledge/04-Dokumente/, groups findings by user type, and generates persona documents with demographics, goals, pain points, key quotes, and success metrics.

Usability mode

Creates a test plan for validating a prototype. Primarily used later in /pd-4-validate, but available here for planning ahead.
